We have a two-fer this week. You have your choice of podcasts this week, listening to Ryen & Chappy talk about how hot and crappy it is in Texas. Or Ryen & Al talking about new movie and TV shows.
Hey all!!! I tried really hard to post on this goddamn blog but I accidentally hit refresh and it deleted the whole fucking thing. I wrote close to 1500 words on Batman: Arkham Asylum and how amazing my first impression was. I wrote all about the things I noticed in my first hour of playing but it all got erased. I made a real effort to help my best friend and his upstart blog but because podbean sucks my hairy, freckly, nasty ass balls it didn’t go through. So until next time…
The first “Boondock Saints” was one of the coolest, slickest, and most over-the-top violent flicks of the past 20 years. And we have been waiting a decade for a sequel. There was even a documentary about the director, Troy Duffy, and how he didn’t handle the success of the first movie. But now we have a release date, Nov. 1, and a new trailer to study. My only critique so far is it looks like they replaced Willem Dafoe with a female version of the same character. But this is just speculation based on some brief shots in the trailer, so I could be way off.
I’m not gonna lie…I am hooked on Madden 10. It has been my go-to game since I broke it’s cellophane wrapper a few weeks ago. I love the feel of this year’s game, I love that it is harder to throw the deep ball, I love that a running play doesn’t automatically net 12 yards, I even love the lame ass highlight show that plays between games in franchise mode. But I began to notice how many advertisements are in the game, I’m talking everywhere. And this didn’t really strike me as odd until I noticed that they still had Plaxico Burress in the game, and Michael Vick had yet to be added to the Eagles. Now this isn’t a big deal, personally I don’t give a damn if Vick ever takes a snap again, and good ole’ Plaxico is gonna be behinds bars for the next 2 years. I didn’t find this interesting until I realized that some of the ads throughout the game had been changing, not only that but they had been updating. For example, an ad for a MTV show that was to air in a few days, then an ad for the current promotion from McDonald’s. Does this mean that EA is updating their advertising faster than they are updating their roster? (more…)
